What we know is shipping

• Cyclops — Optic-blast Duelist confirmed in the S8 trailer. Mid-range hitscan with a charge-and-release primary. Expected to enter the meta high — every new hero does for the first 48 hours, regardless of actual strength.
• Moon Girl & Devil Dinosaur — Pair-controlled Duelist/Vanguard hybrid. The first dual-controlled hero since launch; expected mechanical ceiling is high.
• Path to Doomsday — June: Avengers: Age of Ultron event; August: Infinity War; October: Endgame; December: Doomsday tie-in for the film release.
• Season reset drops every player 9 sub-tiers. Plan placement matches around Cyclops counter-picks.

Expected tier shifts

Day-1 meta on a hero shooter is always inflated. Expected pattern in the first two weeks:

• Cyclops debuts S-tier — every player picks him for the first 48 hours. Win rate inflates because no one has practiced his counters yet.
• Iron Fist ↑ — mid-range hitscan duelists like Cyclops are vulnerable to dive. Iron Fist's mobility windows open up.
• Daredevil ↑ — Bestial Hunt blind-grenade tech becomes more valuable as Cyclops players hold sightlines.
• Black Cat stays S — Lucky Loan reflective shield still flips dive comps. The S7.5 tech doesn't get worse with new dive heroes; it gets better.
• Hitscan-counter Vanguards ↑ — Magneto and Doctor Strange shields gain value vs Cyclops's linear shots.

Practice these now

The window between snapshot date and S8 launch is your prep period. The high-leverage moves:

1. Practice Range Cyclops counters. Find his ult animation frame data and the cooldown windows. The first 100 ranked players who have this memorized win Cyclops mirrors all of week 1.
2. Drill Bestial Hunt + Lucky Loan — both will be must-flex techs vs Cyclops.
3. Complete the S7.5 Battle Pass. Chrono Tokens DON'T carry over. Spend or lose them.
4. Stash Lattice. Premium currency does carry over. Save for the S8 Battle Pass Luxury+ tier (~2,100 Lattice / $20).

Don't fall for these

• "Cyclops is broken" within 24 hours. Every new hero looks broken because no one knows the counters. Wait until day 5 for honest tier reads.
• Climbing during placements without a flex. If you haven't learned a Strategist by S8, your placement matches will land you a tier lower than S7.5. The 9-sub-tier reset hits everyone — re-climb is faster with role flexibility.
• Buying Cyclops cosmetics in week 1. Bundles cycle. Wait for the mid-season discount or his Lord-rank set.
